BREAKFAST RUN TO
SEMAPHORE,
30TH JANUARY 2011
Was there anyone more surprised than me, when, on a day forecast to have a top temperature of 42C, or thereabouts, 15 MG’s and 3 moderns arrived at the University Footbridge for a Breakfast Run to Semaphore. I secretly thought that by 8.30 nobody would have arrived and I could hotfoot it back to the airconditioning at home – ha – that’s what thought does.
We set off for Semaphore by a fairly direct route, through Wellington Square, North Adelaide and onto Torrens Rd, right at Cheltenham Racecourse to Grand Junction Rd and then basically west to Semaphore Beach. There was some shade available and most of us took advantage of it, but hardy souls like the Buckby’s enjoyed the sunshine. I must be some kind of a wimp; Alan can perhaps answer that best.
However, the beach was just the answer on such a warm day, and we enjoyed our breakfast (lots of fresh fruit) and the view over the water set the scene for a very relaxed morning.

Note:
Steve advises we have been invited to bring our MGs on the March Breakfast Run to the Strathalbyn SA Show Jumping Championships, The main senior competition runs for about 1 hour from 1pm and there will be Olympians and other top riders and their horses taking part in the events.
Steve would like an idea of those interested to give organizers some idea of the number of cars likely to attend.
