The S.U Carburetter was patented by George H. Skinner 1905, with his brothers Carl and John; George Skinner formed the SU Carburetter Company in 1910, setting up Business in London. The family gave the Carburetter its name, SU for Skinners Union. The Company was acquired in 1920 by William Morris (later Lord Nuffield) and became part of Morris Motors
